About us

Get to know the person – and the dog – behind Kávé Mystique’s premium artisan coffees. While we approach the task from different perspectives, both Mystique Maci and I work with heart and soul to ensure you enjoy first-class coffee every day.

About us

Originally trained as a chemical engineer, I have worked in my profession for a long time. However, my passion for chocolate and coffee never left me, so after completing a master’s degree in chocolate-coffee making at the University of Food Science, I finally ventured into coffee-making myself.

The knowledge I gained from the university takes me from the soil to the cup giving me stable foundation, but I’ve also spent a lot of time studying plantations, coffee beans, and preparation methods. In this, I found a vocation where I can infuse my personality.

Now that I have an up-to-date professional website, I can finally convey the complexity and premium feeling in both visuals and functionality, which fuels my passion. Of course, I don’t want to stop here; alongside sharing my love for artisan coffee with as many people as possible, I have many plans for the future. Eventually, I’m planning to produce capsule coffee and premium ground coffee – but only if the quality is never compromised by quantity.

About Mystique Maci

Maci is not just present on the website; he’s with me in the coffee-making process as well – of course, while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. Maci is my favorite roasting assistant, his refined sense of smell and constant, unwavering enthusiasm and cheerfulness assist me in my work.

With him by my side, I always feel the same joy that I want to share with you through my artisan coffees. He has more than earned his place as a core member of the Kávé Mystique team!

Social responsibility is also important to me in private life. In addition to regularly participating in charitable actions, supporting those in need plays an essential role in running my artisan coffee webshop.

Sustainability can never be a question for me. When making artisan coffee, I take great care in finding fair-trade plantations, and the coffee is always roasted separately with a small roaster.

I am steadily moving towards my envisioned future. My mission is to share my passion for artisan coffee with as many people as possible. Although I don’t always follow trends and prefer to go my own way, I plan to introduce capsule coffee and cold brew drinks in the future.

I haven’t let go of my passion for chocolate either, as I regularly make filled bonbons and macarons as a hobby. While I’ve found greater challenge in making artisan coffee, one of my partners is also a handmade dessert workshop.

Reviews from those who have tasted my coffees

MYSTIQUE BOLD NAPOLY

The best coffee I’ve ever had at home. Characteristic, acidic, thick crema… Congratulations to the producer!

MYSTIQUE SUNRISE

We’ve tasted several, and each one is divine. It feels like we’re drinking coffee in a café every day. Sunrise is our favorite.

MYSTIQUE ESSENCE

This coffee is a true Wake-Up Bomb for me! Its pleasant aroma pairs well with plant-based milks, especially almond milk, which doesn’t dull the coffee’s unique flavor. I even tried it cold (it accidentally cooled down), and it’s unparalleled! To be honest, I liked it better cold than hot – though my coffee rarely has the chance to cool down. I used it with a bean-to-cup coffee machine.

MYSTIQUE ECHO

The Echo blend is excellent for making espresso. I highly recommend it!

FAQ

Store-bought coffee is of varying quality, roasted quickly for mass production. In contrast, I only work with hand-picked beans from small fair-trade farms. Every artisan coffee I offer is truly handmade; I handle not only the roasting but also the packaging and labeling myself. The meticulous care and slow roasting guarantee the premium quality of the coffee.

The flavor profile of artisan coffee is primarily determined by its origin and variety, but the roasting time and temperature are also crucial. The longer and lower the roasting temperature, the more the unique flavor notes are preserved. I’ve experimented with and perfected the optimal roasting time through numerous roasting and tasting sessions.

The origin and the selection of the coffee farm are my top priorities. I only use coffee beans from high-quality, fair-trade farms. Additionally, I’ve gained extensive experience through roasting tests and quality control to ensure I always offer the best in my artisan coffees. The feedback from my customers confirms the success of my work, which fills me with great joy and satisfaction.

Freshly roasted coffee has a richer, more complex flavor profile. Those who have tasted them both, knows exactly that artisan coffee is incomparable to store-bought coffee. The artisan coffee-making process reduces oxidation, resulting in maximum flavor.

Additionally, consuming artisan coffee has health benefits too, as it contains significantly more antioxidants.

Artisan coffee should ideally be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Avoid humid, damp locations, and never store it in the fridge or freezer. For the best flavor experience, grind only the amount you’ll use soon.

To ensure that I always offer the best flavor experience with my freshly roasted coffees, I ship orders after roasting. Roasting usually takes place on Fridays, but unexpected events can happen in my life too, that may cause delays in the weekly roasting. Of course, I notify my customers of any such force majeure events, but I ensure that your ordered artisan coffee arrives within 7-14 days of the order.
